Political hatred

POLITICAL HATRED IS RIDING US NOWHERE…

MORTAL COMBAT has become the language of our electoral process. As FAROUK ARAIE said gutter politics and character assassination have replaced decency and civility.

Zambia is sadly enveloped in a culture of political hatred, unprecedented in our democracy history. Electioneering is in full progress as the nation prepares for August elections.

We are living in a world where truth, lies, distortion and politicization are hard to tell. Many politicians resort to gutter politics as they do not possess the talent for good governance.

One fact is undeniable: some political figures inspire paranoia, incite more divisiveness and even encourage more radical polices and they might indeed have power to disrupt the utopian ideal of democracy.

We cling to barbaric electric political beliefs that are in themselves, self-defeating, self-restrictive, selfishness and self-destructive

We carry our negative emotions with us from generation to generation. It is evident enough that our political culture has become hyper-charged and violently imagery has been invoked to an alarming degree by certain sources.
