About The Foundation


STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The Lusungu Anemia Foundation is dedicated to serving people afflicted with various forms of thalassemia, most notably the major form of this genetic blood disease, anemia major.

MISSION
Our mission is advancing the help and cure for this fatal blood disease, enhancing the quality of life of patients and donating blood..

HISTORY
It was then a student journalist in his second year at college fallen in love with a beautiful girl who was suffering from this fatal blood disease. Since then its touched him and remembering that they are people who deserve to loved just like that.

Lusungu Anemia Foundation, a nonprofit organization, was formed after his name which means “mercy”. 2016 it has been a strong and supportive partner for individuals living with anemia. Although its has four members but welcomes more to join and support..

ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Walusungu Silweya is a founder and youth activist, working and living in Johannesburg but his close friend is diagnosed with a rare blood disease.

He began this foundation to make sure that his friend and others like them would have the precious blood they needed to survive, though his is still new.  

The Zambian government will next year (2017) meet him after he denoted staff at children's wing at University Teaching Hospital. Since then Lusungu Anemia foundation has grown into a national and international force with an extraordinary record of accomplishments.

What began as the story of one man’s admirer is today the story of many families working together toward a common goal, better treatments and a cure for a disease which threatens their most precious resource their children.

CHIBOMBO BOARDING SECONDARY SCHOOL

THE school was built in 1986 to create for a population of 360 pupils, but today the pupils population has risen to 1,100 with same structures. PUPILS at Chibombo High School Its main objective is to provide academic and co-curricular services to pupils. In which the currently the school has a total of 69 teachers of which 35 are males and the other 34 are females. On the other hand, the school has 18 non-teaching staff workers of which 10 are employed by the P.T.A while the remaining eight are under G.R.Z payroll. The school has a total of 1,100 pupils’ altogether of which 903 are boarders while 197 pupils account for day schooling. Besides, 554 are boys and 546 girls in terms of gender.    Orphaned and vulnerable children are accommodated as well, although very few are in boarding section. By WALUSUNGU SILWEYA Lusaka. THE Zambia Basketball Association (ZBA) has moved today’s tournament from National Sports Development Centre (NASDEC) to Olympic Youths Development Centre (OYDC) due to power and water crisis. ZBA general secretary Mwemba Kaoma confirmed the development yesterday saying the tournament will start around 15:00 hours and 18:00 hours, women and men respectively. Kaoma said Zambia Basketball Association (ZBA) National Championship Finals tournament will also give the technical bench a hint of what to expect for year’s zone six.
