EMMANUEL Chimuka was yesterday elected
new Zambia Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (ZBBFF) president after beating
incumbent Danny Mkandawire during the elections held at NASDEC in Lusaka.
Mkandawire managed only eight votes
while Chimuka of T$T gymnasium had 17 to become the new ZBBFF boss.
The other seven executive committee
members who include vice president Brown Ng’ambi went through unopposed as
there were no people to challenge them.
The new general secretary is Cornelius
Chanda who went through unopposed after incumbent Lee Mukupa refused to
re-contest his position.
Mukupa, who is Muchinga Ward 24
councilor, said he opted not to re - contest because he wants to concentrate on
politics.
Former vice general secretary Christine
Chitambala also did not seek re-election and Isaac Simfukwe of Chawama Gymnasium
went through unopposed and so was Treasurer Danny Sichilima.
The committee members are former
muscleman Lloyd Kyusa, Kalpeshi Pilgoaka and Ephraim Banda.
Chimuka promised to work hard to improve
the standards of bodybuilding in the country.
National Sports Council of Zambia (NSCZ)
sports development officer in charge of sports associations Khondwani Kaonga
urged ZBBFF to be serious and take the sport to greater heights.
