‘First Nigerian Female Twin Airline-Pilots’

THEY say birds of the same feathers flock together. Certainly, if you have ever watched birds in nature, you may know that this phenomenon holds true. As the Hindu Bible say “Set thy heart upon thy work, but never on its reward.”
‘Togetherness and dreams makes human fly far’ It may seem contradictory, but we never engage in action for the sake of reward. This is because seeking a reward binds us to the world and creates karma. Instead, do your work with love. Expect nothing. You are rewarded in the present.
Hence, every successful ventures begins with a dream. On the postscript, this author flies you to Nigeria to meet identical twin-sisters; Huseina Edili-Ogaji and Hassana Edili-Ogaji with an inspiration landing to all those who believe that they are capable especially twins who working together.
The triumph pilots’ twins; Husseina and Hassana, both senior aviation officers have symbolized twins’ values in an indispensable world to became first Nigeria’s female twin airline pilots if not the world at all.
As they say “We behold what we are, and we are what we behold.” As this can also be thought of as ‘you are what you think’. Look for the good in the world, and you will become a beacon of goodness for others.
The twin-sisters who hail from Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State have worked with various aviation companies, flight dispatchers, maintenance engineers, regulatory authorities, air traffic controllers, to successfully achieve a safe and effective aviation industry.
Onogwu Muhammed, a reporter from Tribune, an oldest surviving private Nigerian newspaper described Husseina and Hassana in aviation as ‘the Drivers in Air’ despite living in a patriarchal society, but they have been recognized within and outside the industry, proving that the African woman is capable of venturing into any field she chooses.
They have both won the excellence and women in aviation international Award. We need to ask ourselves; Are we going to merely admire these twins from distance while our lives go on unchanged? Or are we going to learn from them, emulate the values of being twin?
If you know that your words have power? Your words carry such power that can make you or mar you. Your words can put you into a trap or into triumph, Proverbs 6:2 says “Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth.”
